Do you know what it means to pay it forward? I had heard the expression in the past, but I never really thought about it much. However, in the last several days, this phrase has been coming back to me again and again. Pay it forward means that when someone helps you out in life instead of paying that person back you find another person to help out. For instance, if someone allows you to borrow money for some reason, instead of paying that person back they may tell you to pay it forward.....meaning find someone else who needs the money for a good use and give it to them. Sometimes the best way to pay it forward is to do it anonymously. Pay it forward and help a stranger, friend, or family member today!
Joyce Meyer has always been a huge inspiration to me. I have read many of her books, and there is one thing that she repeats a great deal in her books, and that is to pay it forward. She explains how to help others out by doing different things, such as giving people your clothes that you no longer wear, buying someone a present just because, or buying a stranger a cup of coffee anonymously. I even read a story about a lady who anonymously pays for military men and women's groceries. You do not have to do outrageous things that will cost you a fortune. I know people who have anonymously sent gift cards to families who may be facing hard times.
Paying it forward is a good way to spread love around the world. If everyone would start caring more about each other the world would become a better place. It's easy to just turn a blind eye to those around us who may be facing difficult times, but wouldn't you feel much better if you offered a helping hand. Pay it forward, and learn to help those around you!
