STOP THE HURRIEDNESS AND THE RUSHNESS IN YOUR LIFE!!!
You are probably looking at the title of today's blog, and you are probably thinking that the words I am using don't even make any sense! Well, my friend, you are right! I made up two words today: hurriedness and rushness. You are probably thinking, "What the heck does this even mean?" Well, it means that people need to slow the heck down! People need to be less hurried and a whole lot less rushed through life.
Do you ever find yourself rushing from here to there without taking a moment to look around you at the views or scenery you might be missing? Today my family and I took our annual trip to Skyline Drive in Virginia. It blows my mind the way people pay to travel this road; however, they are flying up and down this mountain road at top speed, and it is apparent that there is no way these people are enjoying the breathtaking views. For instance, today on our journey up the mountain, we got stuck in a traffic jam. At first we thought there was a car accident ahead; however, what we saw was so amazing that we will be talking about it for years to come. Along the side of the road was a baby bear that was searching for some food under a pile of leaves. Now, had my family been in a hurried state of mind to get to the next scenic pull off, we would have been bothered that we had to sit and wait in a line of traffic before we could get to our next destination. I wonder how many people were in such a rush that they drove right by that baby bear, and they did not get to witness nature at its best.
It seems that as time progresses the more hurried and rushed people become. They don't take time to "smell the roses." I seriously believe that people would become more caring if they would just learn to slow down a little bit. Learn to stop the hurriedness and the rushness throughout your own life, and maybe it will rub off on the people around you!
